Back on Enterprise Radio: Spotlight on the ADA 3-Stall Restroom Trailer!

We’re excited to share that Stahla Services was back on the air with Eric Dye for another episode of the Enterprise Radio (EPN) podcast! This time, our Co-owner, Grant Stahla, focused on one of our most popular and versatile units: the ADA 3-Stall Restroom Trailer.

It’s always a privilege to discuss how we provide accessible, comfortable, and comprehensive solutions for a wide range of needs nationwide. If you couldn’t tune in, we’ve got you covered with a full summary of the key insights Grant shared about this medium-capacity powerhouse trailer.

What We Discussed: The Flexible ADA 3-Stall Solution

Grant started by explaining the unique design of this trailer and why it’s sometimes called a “2+1” configuration. “There’s three stalls. This trailer is actually a little bit tricky because some people refer to it as a 2 + 1 or a three stall handicap accessible trailer,” Grant explained. The design features one fully ADA-compliant stall in the rear with a ramp that lowers flat to the ground, plus two additional standard stalls with steps.

Accessibility & Capacity: Who Needs This Trailer?

This trailer is built for medium-sized events and specific commercial situations where ADA compliance is essential.

Meeting Critical Needs: Grant emphasized its dual functionality: providing both standard restroom facilities and full ADA compliance in one unit.

Event & Commercial Capacity: The three-stall configuration offers excellent versatility:

  • Events: “For events you’re looking at about 1 stall per 75 guests. So for three stalls, it’s about 225 guests that it could support.”
  • Construction Sites: “If you have a construction site where you need to support 45 people, this is the trailer for you.”

The Perfect Remodel Solution: One of the most common applications Grant highlighted was during facility renovations. “We have it at a lot of construction sites where they’re doing a remodel on the restrooms inside the buildings. You’re required to have handicap accessible restroom stalls, so you can bring out this three stall ADA trailer and shut down that bathroom inside of the store and not have to shut down the entire store while you’re doing the remodel.”

Considering an ADA 3-Stall? Let’s Talk!

Real-World Impact: A Memorable Story of Premium Service

People walk and gather at an outdoor food market with string lights overhead and vendor tents set up on a grassy area, while an ada 3 stall restroom trailer ensures comfortable facilities for everyone.

Eric asked for a story that brought the trailer’s utility to life. Grant shared a perfect example:

Supporting VIP Events: “This is a fun trailer that we bring to a lot of places… a PGA Tour event where there was an exclusive area for VIPs that a bank wanted to be able to invite its favorite customers and business partners and also have awesome restrooms there nearby where they could support everyone.” This story perfectly illustrates how the trailer serves upscale events while ensuring full accessibility for guests with mobility challenges, including those using wheelchairs or walkers.

Understanding the Investment: ADA 3-Stall Rental and Purchase Costs

This trailer’s specialized engineering and premium features are reflected in its pricing. Grant broke down the numbers with full transparency:

  • Purchasing New: Approximately $120,000. Grant explained the higher price tag is due to the specialized axle system that allows the trailer to lower completely to the ground and the repositioned waste and water tanks that accommodate this unique feature.
  • Long-Term Commercial Rentals (per 28 days):
    • 1 Month: Approximately $9,699
    • 2-5 Months: Drops to $7,999 per month
    • 6+ Months: Around $6,249 per month
    • 18+ Months: As low as $5,399 per month
  • Short-Term Rentals:
    • Weekly: About $6,850 per week
    • Daily: About $1,500 per day

Grant noted that these prices are higher than non-ADA trailers because of the specialized construction required for full ground-level accessibility.

A Premium Design: What This Trailer Looks and Feels Like

Grant painted a clear picture of this trailer’s impressive appearance and functionality:

First Impression: “This is actually one of the best looking trailers I think,” Grant shared, highlighting its professional appearance and thoughtful design.

Key Features:

  • Ground-Level ADA Access: The rear section features a ramp system with 6-foot by 6-foot platforms that can be configured for different slopes
  • Individual Stall Doors: Each of the three stalls has its own individual door – no shared facilities
  • Climate Control: One A/C unit serves the entire trailer with three individual vents for each stall
  • Professional Appearance: Standard white exterior unless custom colors are requested

The Technicals: Water, Power, and Transportation Essentials

The specialized nature of this trailer comes with specific technical requirements:

Dimensions & Weight:

  • Length: 19 feet (25 feet with tongue)
  • Width: 7 feet (19 feet with ramps deployed)
  • Height: 11 feet with A/C unit (9.5 feet when lowered)
  • Weight: About 8,300 lbs
  • Axle: Single 10,000 lb “drop axle”

Tanks:

  • Fresh Water: 100 gallons
  • Wastewater: 300 gallons (positioned above frame for ground-level operation)

Electrical:

  • Standard: 2 connections (15 amp, 110V)
  • Winter: 3 connections (15 amp, 110V) for additional heater power

The “Magic” of Setup: Grant described the sophisticated setup process: “There are hydraulic jacks on the corners of the trailer… you just push a button inside the mechanical room and you’re able to lower those jacks down, lift the trailer up, pull the pin on the axle, and then lower the trailer all the way to the ground.”

Quality Manufacturing: These trailers are built by leading manufacturers including JAG, Satellite, and Lang, ensuring consistent quality and reliability.

Grant’s final thought perfectly sums up this unit: “This three stall, handicap accessible trailer is a great trailer when you have a medium size event, so 200 people they can support really well or if you have a construction site where you need to support 45 people, this is the trailer for you when you’re shutting down a facility… you don’t have to inhibit any of your operations while you’re doing that necessary remodel.”
